Are Designers jobless after Google Stitch's new Update? So There has been some extreme polarized reviews about Google Stitch's new update , some claim it being really good while some say its absolutely terrible, I last used stitch last year in june so I was naturally interested in trying the new hyped update.
Here's my take, I built half a dozen of projects, out of which some turned out to be really good to be AI generated, while some were terrible.

I used the Stitch MCP along with OpenCode to make this website (img attached below), which took less than a hour (had to tweak some stuff) also my prompt was fairly long.

The stuff I really liked about stitch was, the Design system and the DESIGN.MD file, imo the Biggest problem with GenAI for stuff like Images/Videos is that you give a prompt to change some part and it changes the whole background for some reason.

The Design System fixes this by creating a standard baseline for our website's design making it more deterministic, which I think is a good take going forward.

Stuff that I did not like was that it was to some extent using templates for stuff like cards and carousels , which basically made all the designs look the same.

So are Designers out of their jobs? , Absolutely not!

Stitch is nowhere near replacing designers , while its not bad either and can definitely integrate in your workflow somewhere if you are a frontend dev/designer.

I will suggest everyone to give it a try!

#GoogleStitch #UIDesign
